Ninispa -Step Morning Skin Care Routine for Glowing Skin

15th September, 2021

Your morning skincare routine is all about protection and preservation as skin can be stressed and easily irritated throughout the day. Skipping your morning routine has the potential to cause a variety of issues, such as clogged pores, acne, and leaving the skin more susceptible to damage caused by oil, dirt, pollution, bacteria and the sun's harsh rays.

Skincare routine is not that much about the products you are using but the order you use them.

There could easily be twelve steps to the most effective morning skincare routine, but let’s be real… nobody’s got time for that. If all you can do each morning is hit the high notes listed below, you’re well on your way to a flawless face all day long.

Cleaning gel

In the morning, start by washing your face with a gentle face cleanser designed for your skin type. A gel cleanser is good for most skin types including; oily skin, sensitive skin, acne-prone skin, and combination skin. The aim of a morning cleanser should be to cleanse any excess residue left behind from overnight products and unclog pores and eliminate excess oil. For ingredients to absorb properly, you need clean skin that’s totally free of oil, pollutants, dirt and grime from the face and uncovers the flawless skin.

Toner

Toner is the first barrier product you apply – good toner balances your skin’s PH. It’s a fast acting, quick hydration boost to the skin that also helps to remove dead skins cells in the process. It's important to use a toner that does not contain alcohol as this can disrupt how your skin produces it's natural oils, which can cause skin to become unbalanced and can lead to irritated and dry skin.

Eye Cream

They’re honestly not necessary for most people. As long as you’re using moisturizer and sunscreen, your eye area is already getting the TLC it needs but if you chose to use eye cream than over time it will keep the eyelid skin elastic and can improve or prevent against some fine lines or collagen loss.

Serum

After cleansing and toning, apply an antioxidant-rich serum packed with active ingredients – such as vitamin C serum – to deeply penetrate the skin and reverse existing signs of damage. Such a serum can also help to protect our skin against the damaging elements we may encounter throughout the day. If your skin is sensitive, use Vitamin C serum every other morning instead of every morning. Press a couple pumps into freshly toned skin and allow to absorb fully before moving on to next step.

Spot Treatment (Optional)

If you find yourself breaking out with an occasional pimple or blemish add this step to your morning skin care routine. Remember to apply spot treatment after moisturizer, not before. This helps make sure the product stays on top of the pimple, and doesn't go on the rest of your face. You need to use spot treatments on active breakouts only, but if you're experiencing acne, you can apply a leave-on spot treatment both morning and night to speed up its healing cycle.

Moisturize

You need to be using a moisturizer. Always. Twice a day. No matter what. Moisturizing your face will help you to look and feel younger, you will have softer, more elastic skin, and it will keep your skin hydrated. It also helps trap in all the products underneath it to make the ingredients even more effective. If you use a vitamin C serum in the morning, you can layer a vitamin C moisturizer right on top to boost the benefits.

Face Oil

Face oils not only attract other oils but also help prevent against any environmental stressors that we face during the day and oils are perfect to add a subtle glow. Oils help to trap moisture in your skin. The important thing is that you don't overdo it—with face oils, a little goes a long way. Massage a few drops over your moisturizer into the skin.

Sun Protection

You should wear sunscreen every single day to prevent UV damage—whether or not you go outside. UV radiation is not only present on a warm summer's day but are also present and can damage skin when the weather is cool, or there is cloud cover. Generally, sunscreen should be reapplied every two hours. If you work indoors and sit away from windows, you may not need a second application.

Listen to your skin. Remember that you are unique and that nobody else has your skin. No matter what experts say, it’s important to find what works for you and always be kind to your skin.
